Yeomiji Botanical Garden

Dear Korea

I’ll keep this short and sweet.

If you think etching your names on exotic plants and trees is romantic…think again.  You are DUMB and you should be put in jail.

I still cannot get my head around it as to why anyone would do such a thing…it was the exact same disbelief feeling when I saw names etched on most of the beautiful trees in the bamboo forest in Damyang.

  1. Ken, you make a wonderful point and after seeing those scenes in Damyang as well, I wish someone would call these people out for it. I had a student once do a presentation on this and it impressed me so much that he was bringing up such a big problem.

I appreciate you addressing that through your words on these spectacular photos. As always, thanks for sharing.

  2. Amazing photos once again, Ken! May I know what camera do you use and also, what is your favourite/most-used lens of all time? I’m thinking of buying a new camera and would love to hear come recommendations. Thank you! 🙂

  3. There is nothing quite as infuriating as seeing a beautiful place disrespected. Had my share of rages touring Korea (and elsewhere).

  4. 싱가폴에 있는 식물원이 생각나네요..
식물에 이름을 쓰는 것은 별로인 것 같아요

  5. I also get mad when I see beautiful trees damaged by people who think they are more important than anything else…
This a beautiful post, the pictures are lovely and relaxing ! x

  6. Life has been so busy lately, I haven’t been reading blogs as much and forgot what a breath of fresh air your posts were. I love your photography – it has an incredibly soothing quality. By the way, I have no idea why people are so keen on engraving their names on plants… It sounds ridiculous.
