I’m feeling really black and white these days. My contract is drawing to a close, and the feeling of leaving my beloved students and moving out of my comfort zone feels exactly like 2 years ago when I left England. This time however I need to face the big bad world again without a permanent stable income…scary. But I guess it was a risk that is expected if you chase for something that you love. I guess life will be boring if you just do what you hate just to earn a comfortable living…risk and uncertainty can be strangely….thrilling =D
Anyways as winter draws nearer to make our warm nights a freezing nightmare. I’ve recently been hunting for furniture for my new shack…well mostly things to prevent myself turning into an ice mummy in my sleep. A friend recommended a heated mattress in which you sleep on…yet there have been cases where people have been reckless enough to be roasted in their sleep! No thanks.
To forget about the chills a group of us decided to ditch the city and turn our heads towards a Hawaiian looking island of Jeungdo in Sinan, Jeolla province. Being classed as a ‘slow city’ it is best to explore this island by foot or by bike, which can be hired. Although Jeungdo is famous for its mudflats and salt farms, I think the sunrise and sunset itself well…the pictures speak for themselves. Watching the sunset whilst making our very own BBQ dinner (samgyupsal and King prawns) made us forget the stress left behind back in the city…even if it was for only one night. Anyways if you want to come here, don’t forget your camera, some creative poses, maracas and tambourines, a Hawaiian phrasebook, and the hulla hulla~~~
